Fall 2008 - Index

We left Juneau in mid-September, 2008 for a two month stay in the Tucson area.  Last spring we stored our truck and trailer in Tucson again.  Old friends Jay and Kaye Hogan kindly picked us up at the Tucson airport and dropped us off at the RV storage center so we could move to Catalina State Park.

The first week here was way too hot for us after such a wet, cold summer in Juneau.  The temperature went over 100 and was in the 90's most of the time for the first week.  We hid in the trailer with the air conditioner running for most of the late morning to late afternoon.

Garrey's brother Randy flew in after we had a chance to acclimate to the hot weather and we spent 6 days together exploring our favorite places in the area.

After a few days we moved to Desert Trails RV Park.  It's next door to Saguaro National Park and above is one of the stars at the Park's impressive name-sake

The day we took Randy to the airport our old friends Jerry and Kay Schilz arrived for a visit.

This year Garrey is working for a friend's engineering firm part-time to change their accounting records to a more modern system.  He likes his office.

Karen is as happy as can be with the sunshine and hiking trails available.  Today she went to the first day of arts & crafts at the park and came home with a scarecrow pin and tales from the women at the event

On Election Day Patty and Brian Gilbert from Wrangell stopped for a day to visit on their way to Texas.  It was great to spend time with them and get a tour of their new trailer "Molly"

We went to the First Benefit Concert for the VFW today at 3 Points and heard the blues, boogie woogie piano, country, and a comedian/magician.  It was a fun afternoon
